Talent Show

Ask anyone who’s been to the ADHD Conference before and this is the first thing they talk about. More fun is had by more people than is legal in most states! Oh, sure, ask people and they’ll say, "Sure, I learned a lot, met wonderful people… I have friends today I met at a conference 10 years ago!” but then they’ll always come back to, "But the ADDA Talent Show! What a riot!”

If you haven’t registered for the ADDA Conference yet, do that first here.

Once you’re registered for the Conference, you are eligible to sign up for...

Friday, July 18th, 2013 8-11 pm. The Ambassador Ballroom

Sound Check 6-7:15pm | Coordinator and MC – Dean Solden

Here’s your opportunity to show off what you can do!  Every adult with ADHD attending the Adult ADHD Conference is welcome and encouraged to participate. We’re open to any talent ranging from the serious to the silly…

ADHDers are renowned for their creativity, so if you have talent, we’d love to see you perform.  The ADDA Talent show is famous as a fun, special, supportive event, allowing for anyone to show off their talents, try new talents, and blow off some steam.   Sing a song, play a song, do some comedy, do a reading, a skit, or even show us a video.

We provide the perfect environment for you to reveal the real you. No judgment, no critics, no scorecards. There are no losers, only winners!

We provide the perfect environment for you to reveal the real you. No judgment, no critics, no scorecards. There are no losers, only winners!

We do our best to ensure everyone who wants to do so has the opportunity to perform, however the length of each performance will be determined by the number of participants.  As a rule of thumb, you should plan for one or two songs or routines, between 5-7 minutes in length with a 10 minute maximum length.  Note: The coordinator has final say as to length of stage-time available and the order of appearance.

Anyone who would like piano accompaniment, please mention that in the form and I’ll contact you to arrange for you to scan and send us the sheet music (if it is a well-known song, I may already know it.)  You’ll need to know what key you sing it in, but if necessary, we can even practice over the phone and figure which key you sing in. Remember, I want you to be successful!

Getting Together

To clear up any last minute details, we can meet at the hotel as soon as you arrive. I’ll be at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center from the afternoon of Thursday, July 18, 2013 until the end of the Talent show at approximately 11 pm. Friday, July 19, 2013.

Sound Check

THERE WILL BE A SOUND CHECK FROM 6-7:15 PM.  ALL PERFORMERS MUST ATTEND THE SOUND CHECK.  You will be able to leave once you have had your sound check.

Positions, Everyone!

All performers will need to be in the Ambassador Ballroom at least 30 minutes prior to the event.  You’ll be notified of your order of appearance just prior to the show.  We will do our best to accommodate your anxiety needs as we put the set list together.

We only have room for approximately 18 performers, so please sign up as soon as possible to ensure you’ll have a chance to appear in the Talent Show!

Even if you want to sign up to perform in the Talent Show at the conference, please complete the form below so we can be in contact.

The ADDA Conference audience is a very supportive audience and we offer a "no-shame” environment!  If you have a secret desire to perform, this is the place to "take the leap!”

See you there!

2013 ADDA Talent Show Coordinator and MC
